- ITALY. Second Vatican Council Gold Medal, 1962. Pope John XXIII (1958-63). NGC MS-61. 40 mm; 35.1 gms. Unlisted. Engraved by P. Giampaoli, coin die axis. Issued to commemorate sweeping changes brought about by the Second Ecumenical Council which included the replacement of Latin with native local languages at mass.
