- 1867 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. AU-55 (PCGS). Handsome khaki-rose patina blankets surfaces that retain both bold to sharp striking detail and ample satin luster. The trend of low mintage circulation strike three-dollar gold issues that began just prior to the start of the Civil War continued in 1867, the Philadelphia Mint producing just 2,600 coins that year.
