1976-(S) Washington Bicentennial Quarter. Copper-Nickel Clad--Struck Five Times--Proof-67 (NGC). NGC has mounted this coin with the reverse up in the holder. All but the first impression are off center, portions of the design on both sides of the coin being present up to five times. The mintmark areas are not discernible, but a uniformly brilliant proof finish attributes this dramatic error to the San Francisco Mint. Two nearly complete date areas are discernible on the obverse. Major Mint errors of any kind are very rare on proof coins, such issues usually being handling with the utmost care and security by Mint personnel.
