- GREAT BRITAIN. Middlesex. Spence's Farthing Token, ND (1790s). PCGS MS-63 Red Brown Gold Shield. D&H-1110. Obverse: A man hanging from a gibbet; Reverse: A pair of breeches on fire, a man-headed snake below, "PANDORA'S BREECHES" around. We do not pretend to understand this bizarre and macabre design, which may be a mule. Lustrous red-brown color, one toning spot on the obverse. Spence in action at his best! Estimate: $200 - $350.
