- Yet another coin we will label a SUPERB GEM AU! If this coin were raw, we'd bet some inexperienced people would grade it MS! This coin is THAT high end. Exceptional surfaces are satiny and smooth. There are practically NO imperfections or ANY size, any where-even if you are using a really strong glass. A surprising amount of luster remains and enlivens the peripheries especially. Both sides are a deep original pewter/champagne/lavender color and are far from dull. Miss Liberty and the details display only slight wear and are well struck. The eye appeal is fabulous! PCGS 3, NGC 1, CAC 1. Get this: the last PCGS AU55 to sell in auction was back in 2006! That coin brought $3,220 back then! Even in AU58 (pop 3) the last coin to sell was back in 2006.
