A very high end GEM example on the cusp of an even higher designation. Shimmering cartwheel luster blooms boldly all over. The brilliance enlivens the pale peach-gold that is dusted over the obverse before yielding to a more vibrant arc of rainbow toning at the rim. The reverse is untoned and satiny with a crisp strike and frosty devices. The eye appeal is excellent, and there are only a few tiny ticks seen under the toning which is what we think precludes a CAC bean. Regardless, if you collect toned GSA dollars, this 81-CC should not be missed. PCGS 341, NGC 61. The last one to sell brought $2,076 in September 2020.
