- THE TERRA PISTACIA COLLECTION Ex Eliasberg Collection WOW! Arguably the FINEST KNOWN of this popular half dollar pattern. This is a great looking example of Paquet's Seated Liberty half dollar design. Liberty is seated on a rock, facing left, right hand supporting a fasces and left hand supporting a union shield. Arrows and olive branch are at the base. The reverse displays as large, perched eagle with a ribbon in its beak, shield against the chest. Struck in silver with a reeded edge, it is listed as Rarity-5. Graded as PR65/66 in the Eliasberg sale catalog, PCGS has graded none higher than PR65 in the designation, and this is the ONLY one with a GOLD CAC bean. This is a gorgeous GEM. Delicate gold in the centers framed by bold blue, particularly on the reverse. Nicely rendered devices stand out against the fields. An early state, the die polish lines on the obverse suggest a fresh polishing before being struck. The eye appeal is amazing! Ex Louis E. Eliasberg Collection, Bowers & Merena, May 1996, lot 236. PCGS 5, NGC 2, CAC GOLD 1. A regular Green CAC example sold in May 2022 for $5,040. The Simpson coin, a PCGS PR65+ CAM without CAC sold for $7,500 in August 2022. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,000 and the CAC CPG value is $6,250 in PR65. We think this coin will bring in that range when the hammer falls. Good luck. Cert.
