- CHINA. Hunan. Fantasy Silver Tael, ND ("1909"). NGC MS-61. cf. L&M-396 (for original); cf. K-962 (same); cf. WS-0917 (same). Imitating the Ta Ching Government Bank. An interesting "fantasy imitative type" this piece was produced in imitation of the 1909 Hunan Tael. Varying quite considerably in fabric from the originals, this one is rather well struck and quite glossy, suggesting a manufacture date far more recent than the originals. Estimate: $600 - $900.
