- (t) CHINA. Kiau Chau. Nickel Plated Brass 10 Pfennig Token, ND (ca. early 20th Century). PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield. Menzel-4287.1.2. Obverse: uniformed bust facing forward; Reverse: P.H. in center, "WERT-MARKE 10 PFG." ("good for 10 pfennig") around. Choice for the grade with no major hindrances to the appearance. A VERY SCARCE issue that will undoubtedly add depth to any collection it enters. Made in Berlin as a token for the German colony of Kiau Chau, which fell to the Japanese in 1914.
