THE R.S. COLLECTION This is a totally original borderline GEM example of this KEY date, graded ages ago and fresh to the market after more than 30 years in the collection of a long time Legend Numismatics customer. Housed in generation 1.2 PCGS "rattler" this coin has a premium look for the assigned grade. Ample original red color and brilliance glows boldly below a soft violet-brown patina in a cool wood-grain pattern. The devices are nicely impressed with nice definition throughout and just a touch of weakness at the feather tips and on the bow. The surfaces display no serious marks, lines, or flecks of any kind that would detract from the grade or the outstanding eye appeal. PCGS 204, NGC 73, CAC 51. The most recent PCGS MS64 RB CAC sold for $10,800 in August 2022 and prior to that, one sold for $12,000. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $11,000 and the CAC CPG value is $13,000.
