This PQ example is far superior to the majority of 1854s in GEM. Velvety, creamy, underlying luster makes the surfaces really pop in the light. The surfaces are richly toned in a dappled blue, lilac, slate, pewter melange. The details are sharply impressed from a bold blow from the heavily clashed and cracked dies. The eye appeal is great.
PCGS 16, NGC 6, CAC 12. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $4,500 and the CAC CPG Value is $5,850. This was the most recent example to sell, realizing $4,818 in our 2022 Central States Regency Auction. Worthy of a strong bid from the type or specialist collector. Good luck.
