- 1740-B Half Sou Marque. Rouen Mint. Vlack-298. Rarity-3. VF-25 (PCGS). 18.0 grains. An unusually well centered example of the type with virtually full legends, bold central motifs, and only minor softness at the lower right obverse and upper reverse borders. Considerable silvering remains to lightly worn surfaces that also exhibit mottled medium brown color. An ancient reverse verdigris spot at the upper left corner of the central L is the only blemish of note. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
