Why can’t all Choice Mint State late date Capped Bust halves have the ORIGINALITY and EYE APPEAL of this coin? Deep, frosty, mint bloom and luster are present over extremely well preserved surfaces. Evenly toned on both sides in wisps of pastel honey gold, tangerine and baby blue hues. A darker toning area is noted above the first T of STATES. Bold strike, and free of the typical weakness generally found around the bust area in the drapery folds. PCGS 82, NGC 69, CAC 8. Two pieces sold in August of 2019 for $2,160 and $2,145 respectively.
