Truly PQ and beautiful in every way. Warm steely gray patina is enlivened by a bold mix of deeper sea-green, teal, red, and coppery-orange-gold toning and brought out by a satiny underlying brilliance. There are a trio of reeding marks seen in the upper left obverse field, all that precludes a SUPERB grade. The eye appeal is sensational in every way. PCGS 39, NGC 40, CAC 15. The most recent PCGS MS66 CAC sold in auction for $5,520 in August 2021, above the current CAC CPG and PCGS Price Guide values. This coin last sold back in November 2011, before it was CAC approved, realizing $4,744. Fewer than twenty examples have graded higher at PCGS, no doubt counting some duplication of submissions.
