- FROM THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION Only 14,000 $10 gold pieces were struck in this final year of coining operations at the Carson City mint. This is a wonderful honey gold hued CHOICE AU example. Sharply struck devices stand out from smooth, problem free surfaces. Totally original and unmolested, this is a high end example for the grade, and the eye appeal is great. PCGS 20, NGC 43, CAC 4. No CAC approved AU53 has ever sold in auction. Indeed, these are much scarcer than the Pops would have you think, none have sold since September 2016. A slightly finer PCGS AU55 CAC from the Sierra Biker Collection realized $12,000 in the 2021 ANA auction. This coin is worthy of a very strong bid from the CC specialist! Cert.
