THE PERFECTION COLLECTION OF CAPPED BUST QUARTERS
This is the SINGLE FINEST 1832 quarter graded by PCGS, and what an AMAZING example it is! The B-1 die marriage is easily identified by the long arrow shafts on the reverse, the only such reverse for the date that has this feature.
The lustrous surfaces show off a bold array of variegated olive-mint in the center that melds to coppery-amber patina towards the peripheries. The cartwheels are vibrant and forcefully highlight the subtle variations of toning on both sides. A stray contact mark or two are relegated to microscopic size and have no impact on the exquisite visual allure or detract from the SUPERB quality this GEM exudes. Worthy of the FINEST of sets!
Ex. Jason Carter, by private sale, May 2011 to Eugene Gardner; Eugene H. Gardner Collection, Part II, Heritage, October 2014, lot 98350 (as PCGS MS65 CAC); our consignor.
PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 4. This coin is clearly counted twice at CAC. This GEM brought a RECORD SHATTERING $61,688 in the October 2014 sale of the Gardner Collection. Pay no regard to other APRs or published levels, if you are working on the FINEST Capped Bust quarter set, this is the SOLE MS65+ at the TOP OF THE POP for you to consider. Good luck!
