- A Second 1856 Snow-9 Small Cent 1856 Flying Eagle Cent. Snow-9. Proof-55 (PCGS). The classic 1856 Flying Eagle cent in handsome and highly desirable Proof-55 preservation. Warm, even toning in tan-olive is seen on both sides. The strike is nearly full overall, and the surfaces are free of significant marks or other blemishes. This lot includes ANACS Photo Certificate No. LAA041 that assigns a grade of AU50/50 for this coin. A second ANACS Photo Certificate, No. A5093, determined the authenticity of this coin and also involved a transfer of ownership in April 1976. Also included is a cover tag for Photo Certificate No. A5093 and two ANACS mailing envelopes that are postmarked March and April, 1976. Both of the envelopes are addressed to the same owner, whose signature is on Photo Certificate No. A5093.
