详细说明: Ex R. Dier and Gold River Collections, as noted on the insert. The 1882-O is surprisingly rare in this lofty state of preservation, and is extremely rare any finer. While more than 6 million were struck, this date was not saved in large quantities, and unlike other dates, the number of GEM or finer 82-O dollars number around 2,000 in all grades from 65 to 68+ combined between PCGS and NGC, with duplication no doubt included. The present borderline SUPERB GEM boasts an exceptionally brilliant cartwheel luster. The devices are razor sharp in strike with impeccable cleanliness seen on the devices. The surfaces are devoid of any serious marks, ticks, or lines, indeed were this a more common date, it would not shock us if this coin was in an MS67 holder. PCGS 93, NGC 14, CAC 9. Only 14 are graded MS66+ at PCGS with just 8 finer. We sold an example in our March 2019 Regency Auction for $12,338. Note: we sold a non-CAC MS67 coin for over $30,000 in September 2019.
