- 1889 Inaugural Centennial Badge by Saint-Gaudens. Silver. 35 mm. Musante GW-1136, Douglas-54. AU-50 (PCGS). Looped for suspension from a bronze bar and yellow ribbon, both of which have since been lost. Bold antique silver patina with steel gray outlines to most design elements. Scattered marks and a few small edge nicks suggest that this piece was worn on more than one occasion, the high points on both sides also exhibiting light rub. Medals of this type were presented to Inaugural Centennial celebration officials and members of the New York State Legislature. Provenance: From the Ralph A. Edson Collection.
