- Our sister company, Legend Numismatics are huge fans of this date in GEM. They have read us the riot act how rare they really are and how much better this coin is then 95% of what you will ever see called GEM MS65. Apparently, 1932-D's do not come all that great. It’s been 30+ years of operations and PCGS has graded only 2 higher. To start, this coin is closer to MS66 than MS65. Sensational surfaces are flawless; even using a strong glass all you will see are light toning lines-not a single imperfection. The surfaces are super smooth. A surprising strong luster beams from all over. There is some light reddish brown toning spread more so around the peripheries than anywhere else. What looks like finger prints clearly are NOT-those are light toning lines. Washington and all the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 84, NGC 33, CAC 19 (w/none beaned higher). PCGS has graded only 5 coins MS65+ (and 2 in MS66). We would put this coin next to any called MS65+ (and it would win)! The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $21,739 in December 2015. The current Collector’s Universe value is $28,000. It should be noted that a NON CAC MS66 sold for $74,000 in January 2018. There is no question this sharply better MS65+ 1932-D has been away carefully stored since the day it left the bank! Cert. Number 34571641 PCGS # 5791
