FROM THE UNFORGETTABLE COLLECTION A thickly frosted SUPERB GEM Connecticut half dollar that is all there from the technical grade standpoint and has a fantastic visual effect on top. Nearly flawless surfaces have a glittering satiny frost. Mostly pearly silver in color, both sides have peripheral accents of color. The obverse shows a blush of gold. The reverse has a deeper orange-gold at STATES and a pearly-silver gold. The devices show exquisite exactness in strike with all the leaves of the Charter Oak crisply rendered. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 148, NGC 111, CAC 74. PCGS has graded a mere 20 in MS67+ and a solitary MS68 finer. Only 6 MS67+ CAC examples have sold in auction, with an average APR of $3,320; the most recent of which sold for $4,200 in June 2020. The sole MS68 has never made an appearance in auction, but would certainly bring well into the five figure range if it came to market. This sensational coin is worthy of a very strong bid. Good luck.
