- GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1696. London Mint. William III. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. S-3472; KM-494.1. "OCTAVO" on edge. Tied for the finest certified of the date with two other examples on the PCGS, none finer. A boldly struck and lustrous survivor with crisp well defined intricate devices and a nice cartwheel effect. This lovely example displays mottled iridescent patina primarily contained to the peripheries adding to its pleasing appearance and eye appeal destined for a fine cabinet. Estimate: $2,500 - $3,500.
