- 1861 Silver Three-Cent Piece. Proof-65 (PCGS). Dusted with the lightest silvery iridescence, this fully struck example reveals deeply mirrored reflectivity in the fields as the surfaces dip into a light. The obverse has claim to a Cameo designation. The mintage of this issue is 1,000 Proofs, several hundred of which failed to sell to contemporary collectors and were later released into circulation by the Mint. PCGS# 3710. NGC ID: 27C8.
