FRANCE. Louis d'Or, 1651/44-D. Lyon Mint Louis XIV (1643-1715). NGC MS-64. Fr-415; KM-149.2; Gad-244. A late date of the "louis d'or à la mêche courte" struck at Paris and Lyon (shown here) 1643-56. The sol finest certified example at either NGC or PCGS. The holder does not so state, but the 1651/44 overdate mentioned in Gadoury is clearly visible here. Flashy and lustrous.
