- 1861 Bombardment of Fort Sumter Medal. Type I. HK-11b. Rarity-7. Brass. MS-63 (PCGS). 34 mm. With a few blushes of medium rose patina to otherwise deep brassy-gold surfaces. Although the producers of these medals are unknown, the dies appear to have been engraved by George Hampden Lovett. Both types, and all metallic compositions, are scarce.
