- DOMINICA. 6 Bitts, ND (1813). George III. PCGS AG-03, Countermark: FINE Details. KM-6; Prid-27. Issued by local ordinance of 7 August 1813. Countermark: Raised crowned 6 within shaped indent, roughly grained edge. Applied to the obverse of a central plug of a Spanish Colonial bust 8 Reales of Charles IIII (IV) of unknown mint. This handsome example displays attractive rich mottled gray patina with minor earthen deposits in the crevasses. The countermark is boldly applied on a well-worn host exhibiting signs of handling one would expect from the designated grade with some remaining evidence of the grained edge.
