A very high grade example of this first year of Adolph Weinman's masterpiece type. The surfaces of this lustrous PQ GEM, on the cusp of a SUPERB designation, are clean and free of distracting marks. Only the barest trace of the palest iridescent toning can be found anywhere on either side, and they only come out when rotated in a light. The surfaces are overall very clean with only a few microscopic traces of contact that can be found only with the aid of a strong glass. VERY RARE at such a lofty state of preservation or finer, this coin is a perfect Registry Set contender!
PCGS 13, NGC 4. The most recent example sold for $14,400 in March 2021 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $18,500. Just a half dozen are graded higher at PCGS, and the values jump dramatically between the currently offered MS66+ grade level and MS67. What a great coin for anyone working on a high ranking set, do not let this opportunity pass you by!
