- 1891-O/S Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-111. Rarity-3. Repunched Date, 89/89. MS-65 (NGC). CAC. A find for the advanced Liberty Seated dime enthusiast, this is the only example of the 1891-O Fortin-111 variety attributed by NGC in any grade. Vivid cobalt blue and reddish-apricot peripheral toning adorns both sides, the surfaces of which are silky smooth in texture with a delightful satin texture. A loupe readily reveals both repunching to the digits 89 in the date and remnants of the undermintmark within the primary O on the reverse. Gerry Fortin (www.seateddimevarieties.com) ranks this as one of the most significant varieties of the 1891-O issue and suggests than a 50-150% premium is in order for extant examples.
