详细说明: Mint State 1810 Classic Head Cent Rarity Sheldon-285 1810 Classic Head Cent. S-285. Rarity-2. MS-63 BN (NGC). A rare and highly desirable Choice Mint State example of one of the most conditionally challenging design types among early U.S. Mint coppers. The surfaces exhibit a hard, satin texture with no blemishes readily evident to the unaided eye. Even under close scrutiny with a loupe we see only trivial marks and carbon flecks, a few speckles of ancient verdigris at Liberty's nose and mouth. Splashes of olive-gray patina in and around the centers enhance a base of warmer golden-brown. Both sides retain blushes of original mint color in faded pinkish-orange, on the obverse around stars 8 through 13 and along the back of Liberty's head, the reverse around the letters in the denomination ONE CENT. The strike is quite well centered for the type with universal denticulation around the borders, mentionable softness confined to the left peripheries on both sides. The Sheldon-285 variety is relatively common overall but becomes notably scarce in Uncirculated condition.
