- MEXICO. 50 Centavos, 1875-Do M. Durango Mint. PCGS MS-61. KM-407.3. Far exceeding the norm for this type which is often encountered in rather ragged circulated condition, the present specimen displays a wonderful highlighting of rainbow toning that warms the obverse periphery nearest 9 o'clock. A mostly full strike has been applied, with just a touch of slight weakness near the highest elements of the eagle. Far less bagmarked than one would expect for the grade, with the touch of friction visible under magnification likely making the grade. A phenomenal piece, and one that will compel all serious Mexican collectors to reach for their paddle and place a bid. Estimate: $500 - $750. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
