- 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 12-G, W-4790. Rarity-4. No Coulter, Shaggy Mane. VG-10 (PCGS). 137.0 grains. Struck medal turn. Pleasing two-tone color, a contrasting dark brown and tan between the fields and devices. Some thin scratches are noted on the horsehead, below the plow handles, and on the shield which are mostly toned over and not too disturbing at most viewing angles. Fairly glossy surfaces with just trivial roughness and a few light flaws. Overall pleasing detail and eye appeal for the grade. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
