Struck in silver with a reeded edge, the design features Barber's Liberty Seated obverse with the Standard Silver reverse. This curious die combination leaves us with a "coin without a country" as neither side has UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on it. Blazing silver white mirrors beam boldly all over. The devices stand out in stark, sharp contrast to the surrounding fields. While some light lines are noted in the fields, the eye appeal is unmarred by unsightly mishandling or splotchy toning.
