- A radiant and brilliantly lustrous PQ GEM example of another lower mintage quarter eagle. Only 6,000 quarter eagles were struck for circulation, and as expected are quite difficult to find in high grade. The present example is sharply rendered with crisply defined details. The frosty, satin-like sheen is bold and vivid, accenting the essentially mark-free surfaces, devices, and wonderful coloration. The eye appeal is great! The last PCGS/CAC example to sell in auction was back in November 2013! An APR from nearly a decade ago is irrelevant.
