A borderline CHOICE Mint State O-106a. Satiny brilliant surfaces are of wonderful quality for the assigned MS62 grade. There is a light blush of iridescent pewter-gray and pale lilac-blue patina over the obverse with a hint of clear gold. While not listed in the Red Book, this die marriage is sometimes called the "tampered 3" with damage to the back of the 3 punch. This is a nice example that is just below the Condition Census for the die marriage. PCGS 81, NGC 54. The most recent examples have sold in the $2,006 to $2,640 range and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $2,750. This date becomes much scarcer in MS63 and with that, the price goes up considerably. This wholesome original coin will please even the pickiest of collectors. Cert. Number 80583602 PCGS # 6131
