1793 S-3 R3- PCGS graded AU50. Chain AMERICA. Dark olive and steel with traces of frosty luster in protected areas. No contact marks, only some of the usual tiny planchet voids scattered about both sides, as struck. The largest of these is a shallow one in the field to the left and slightly below the U in UNITED. The planchet is otherwise smooth but does have microscopic traces of powdery greenish dust on some of the highpoints, strongest at UNI, indicating this cent has not been brushed in a very long time. A proper brushing should remove the traces of power and bring out the underlying glossy luster, thus greatly improving the eye appeal. Nicely struck LDS, Breen state III. The obverse die clashmarks are clear. EAC grade EF40. PCGS# 1314.
