- Impressive Double-Dragon Gold Fantasy (t) CHINA. Fengtien. Fantasy Gold Tael, Year 20 (1894). PCGS Genuine--Damage, Unc Details Gold Shield. Fr-Unlisted; cf. K-B17; KMX-M21; cf. WS-1349-4. This charming large-size gold fantasy exhibits bold, auspicious symbols and icons with neatly shaped calligraphy and intricate devices. Both the obverse and reverse show signs of being harshly cleaned, now lightly toned with hints of pale orange patination among the devices. Though the PCGS insert has designated this survivor as having "damage," upon close inspection this cataloger is finding it quite difficult to locate said damage. Despite its shortcomings, this seldom encountered type is sure to see spirited bidding from many collectors with advanced numismatic holdings. Estimate: $10,000 - $20,000.
