WHOLESOME and ORIGINAL, this early Capped Bust quarter is the quintessential example of a well struck, deeply lustrous, original coin. The fields are toned in pearl gray hues and are accented by traces of carrot and marigold overtones. The design elements are razor sharp with crisp delineation of the finer details. Under magnification, there are some light scratches in the field to the right and above the date. PCGS 14, NGC 12. PCGS Price Guide value is $5,000. An example sold in March 2023 for $2,880, but it looks washed out and dipped. The next sale record goes back to 2019 where a piece sold for $2,040. If you have been looking for a nice Large Size Capped Bust quarter, you realize how hard they are to come by with original surfaces. This coin is a candidate for an aggressive bid. Cert.
