- 1738-O Sou Marque. Riom Mint. Vlack-153. Rarity-7. VF Details--Bent (PCGS). 28.9 grains. Warm, even steel-brown toning with plenty of silvering. Slightly granular overall with a minor bend at 6 o'clock relative to the obverse, yet with universally bold detail to enhance the eye appeal. Another rare mint in the sou marque series, the 1739-O is the only issue from Riom encountered with any frequency in numismatic circles. The first year 1738-O, offered here, is rare with a mintage of 122,610 pieces. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex our (Stack's) sale of the John J.
