详细说明: 1809 Classic Half Cent. C-6. Rarity-1. Manley Die State 5.0. AU-58 (PCGS). This is a challenging die marriage to obtain ""nice,"" the typical example a later die state with poor peripheral definition on both sides due to die erosion, clashing and consequent resurfacing of the dies. For a Manley Die State 5.0 example (one of the more advanced die states known), the coin we offer here is quite sharp throughout the obverse portrait, stars, date, the reverse wreath and the denomination HALF CENT. A lack of significant wear certainly helps in this regard, the surfaces minimally circulated and also retaining much of the original softly frosted texture. The denticulation is incomplete on both sides, as typical of the die state, and portions of the reverse periphery are softly defined due to the die having been reground. Surface preservation, however, is also impressive due to a lack of distracting abrasions or other blemishes. A handsome near-Mint example that is sure to interest both the type collector and the early copper specialist.
