- BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1679-P. Potosi Mint; Assayer Manuel de Cejas (C). Charles II. PCGS VF-30. cf. KM-25; Cal-523. Weight: 13.58 gms. A handsome cob from the assayer Manuel de Cejas, whose tenure at the Potosi mint lasted less than a year. The obverse proudly displays his initials in both places, along with both mintmarks and a highly legible date. The reverse has lost all its markings save for a partial last digit on the date, but retains attractive castles and lions in the center. Though moderately circulated, the warmly gray cabinet tone enhances all the details and gives the piece ample eye appeal. Estimate: $250 - $400. Provenance: From the Pat Johnson Collection.
