FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION A lovely GEM Proof example, struck the final year of this short lived denomination, and it is high end quality for the eye appeal. This Proof only date saw only 600 coins struck, of which, this PR65 RD ranks high among those graded at PCGS. The mirrors are bold, and highly reflective with a strong RED color. Sharply struck up, both sides have crisp definition. Very eye appealing, we are unsure why CAC did not bean this lovely example. Housed in an OGH. PCGS 20, NGC 8. The present coin sold in June 2013 for $7,350; more recently one sold in June 2018 for $6,600. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,500.
