A conservatively graded $3 gold piece housed in an old NGC-Generation 3 holder, used from 1990 to 1993. These fatties have no barcode on the front and has the hologram on the reverse. A bold luster highlights rose and tangerine infused surfaces. The strike is bold and the definition is more along the lines of an AU55 than the assigned AU50 grade, thus the coveted GOLD CAC bean. The eye appeal is great. PCGS 233, NGC 78, CAC GOLD 1. The CAC CPG value is $1,800 in AU50; $1,880 in AU53; and $2,100 in AU55. This very pleasing example, combining a popular gold type coin, in a popular old holder, and the gold CAC sticker offers a lot of character and charm for the discerning collector, and we expect strong bidding for this lovely coin.
