- Struck from the first of the Standard Silver dies. A capped bust of Liberty facing right with 3 stars, Standard Silver reverse. Struck in aluminum with a reeded edge, J-700 is an R-7-, meaning 7-12 are thought to exist. This one has brilliant reflective aluminum surfaces. The planchet has a minor flaw on the reverse and there is some light patina on both sides. Well struck. PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. This is the only CAC-approved example of the J-700. It last sold in the 2007 auction of the Jones Beach pattern collection, realizing $1,955. The only other example to sell since was the Queller-Lemus Collection coin, an NGC PR67 that sold for $5,175 in the 2009 FUN sale. The CU value is $2,500 and the 10th Edition of Judd suggests a retail value of $2,400. A great way to start the Bob Simpson Standard Silver Pattern offering, and a very affordable way to get introduced to the pattern world. Cert. Number 30931269 PCGS # 60925
