- 1818/7 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-101a. Rarity-1. Large 8. MS-62 (NGC). A delightfully original specimen with deep lilac-purple color overall and iridescent cobalt and sea-green peripheries. This popular bold overdate retains complete luster under the toning and displays smooth, inviting surfaces with no marks of any consequence. Sharply defined overall, the denticles are weak at the top of the obverse and reverse due to a trivially off center strike.
