- 1855 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-168 Original, Pollock-193. Rarity-4. Bronze. Plain Edge. Proof-64 BN (PCGS). 92.90 grains. Obverse: large eagle flies left in a circle of 13 stars, date below. Reverse: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around a small wreath, ONE / CENT within. Deep golden-brown surfaces exhibit lively luster and traces of attractive rose-brown iridescence. An ever-popular pattern that is plentiful enough that today's Flying Eagle and Indian cent collectors often include it in their collections. PCGS# 11720. Provenance: From "Quality" Sales Corp.'s sale of the John A. Beck Collection, Part II, February 1976, lot 1060. Earlier ex: Henry Chapman.
