- The Crimson Collection. Logan-McCloskey-1 (R.3). Technically, the "B" has complete definition at the top and partial definition at the bottom having been struck off of early dies, but PCGS correctly attributed the LIKERTY obverse, for which the "B" will look more like a K as the top and bottom loops further eroded on later struck half-dimes. The only other die-marriage for the year is the 1796/5 overdate. Terrific for VF-35, the surface boasts delightful, mellow dove-grey surfaces and even a tinge of luster that lays claim to the full extremely-fine grade. However, a small, old oblong mark above the ribbon may have been enough to decide in favor of the slightly lower numeric grade.
