- A very pleasing example of this conditionally very challenging date. Extremely difficult to find in this lofty state of preservation and with just two graded finer, this date is virtually unobtainable in SUPERB grade. This totally original Premium GEM offers a really cool look. Splashes of clover, emerald, and olive green blend with coppery-peach, apricot-rose, lemon-yellow, and lilac-dove patina have an almost Pollack-esque pattern. The reverse shows freckles of russet scattered over brilliantly lustrous surfaces. The luster is bold and and satiny with a rolling cartwheel finish that brings out the subtle differences in the shades. Sharply struck the lettering of the Liberty Bell, as well as the lines are fully rendered and nice and crisp. Both sides are pleasing and have just a few tiny ticks from contact, but none have any impact on the wonderful visual allure. PCGS 112, NGC 27, CAC 18. Only 16 are graded MS66+ FBL. This coin realized $4,935 in September 2016, and the most recent example sold in our May 2019 Regency Auction for $4,700. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $6,000 and with just two graded finer, both MS67 FBL, this date is EXCESSIVELY RARE any finer, and neither has ever sold in auction. This is about as fine as any specialist collector can ever expect to buy in today's market. We anticipate very strong bidding here. Good luck! Cert. Number 81340199 PCGS # 86676
