URUGUAY. 40 Centesimos, 1844. Montevideo Mint. Republic. PCGS EF-45 Brown Gold Shield. KM-3; Antunez-6.8.1. Coin alignment/"male" sunface. A deep mahogany example dusted with umber patina, this lightly circulated piece exhibits smooth and glossy fields. While not perfect, the flan is refreshingly free of deep cuts and flaws normally seen with the issue, and the strike is also comparatively strong. Estimate: $150 - $250.
