- 1787 Vermont Copper. RR-13, Bressett 17-V, W-2255. Rarity-1. BRITANNIA--Struck on End of Strip, Straight Edge Planchet--VF-20. 137.6 grains. Deep golden-brown with marginally lighter high points. Late obverse die state with cud and break present at the effigy, straight-edge clip from 11 to 1 o'clock, planchet taken from the end of a rolled strip, planchet flaws and fissures at top, as struck, a few other tiny fissures here and there, reverse with much of BRITANNIA present, weak but readable, rim clip runs from 6 to 8 o'clock on this side, tiny rim nick at 9 o'clock, otherwise no marks of importance seen. A rather heavy example of the variety, weighing in at a moderately hefty weight even with the rim clip. One for the Vermont copper error specialists. PCGS# 554.
