- 1899 Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC. Beautiful surfaces are virtually pristine and display radiant satin luster. Brilliant with only the lightest golden overtones. The strike is razor sharp. Described by Q. David Bowers as a "semi-scarce date" (A Buyer's Guide to Silver Dollars & Trade Dollars of the United States, 2006 edition), the 1899 is popular in all grades due to a limited mintage of 330,000 circulation strikes. In the finest Mint State grades, as here, it is seldom offered at even the largest numismatic gatherings.
